Everyone needs people who will call them out on their “ish.”
Trusted confidants who will help you pinpoint your blind spots, speak to you about your weaknesses and help you grow through them in a spirit of love and acceptance.
This past weekend a major blind spot was pointed out to me. I had no idea I was as weak as I was in a particular area of my life until I shared about a certain situation and everyone who was seated at the table around me gasped.
They were shocked. I was shocked at their shock. Everyone was shocked.
When they objectively broke down my story, I began to see the err in my ways and recognized that I needed help. I took it a step further and asked specifically for their help and made plans to fix my situation.
Fix it Jesus….
Blind spots. Weaknesses. We’ve got them.
Sometimes they’re massive and require serious adjustments and sometimes they’re little things that need minor re-alignments. Bottom line: we all have them and we need to be humble enough to admit our shortcomings and move forward.
It’s never too late to change.
I’m now off to re-align a few things…
