In thinking about the week ahead, I’m excited.
I’m excited about a new day, a new week, a new set of possibilities.
I’m excited about the mundane and the supernatural.
I’m excited about the prospect of change, and the comfort of routine.
I’m straight up, excited.
I’m looking forward to this week and stoked about what is to come.
Monday morning come quickly, please…
I travelled.
Saw a portion of the world.
Worked as a music teacher.
Ate crepes and tagines.
Rode the Tube.
Hopped on a few planes.
Went to a few weddings.
Worked with at risk children and youth for the summer.
And now I’m back to business as usual.

Something is shifting inside of me; in my thoughts, in my soul, in my heart… I’m not sure what it is exactly. I can’t quite put my finger on it but I know that it’s real and alive and imminent. I feel like I’m mourning the death of something old and anticipating the birth of something new. I feel the grief of loss and the thrill of gain, I do. I just do…..

Dear Friends!
My encouragement for you today is to take a minute to step outside of your comfort zone and try something new. Meet a new person from a different culture, ethnic group, religious group, etc. Make an attempt at that project that you’ve been dreaming of doing for years. Challenge your everyday routine and understanding of your world.
You may be surprised at what you will find. You may discover that you’ve had the ability to do whatever you’ve wanted to do all along. You may discover that people are intrinsically the same all over the world. That your neighbour of a different culture or native tongue has similar hopes and dreams for their family, for their lives. You may gain a new friend and community along the way. You may find that even though someone has a different perspective on life, they are still worthy of Love and understanding. You may learn to love without judgement.
You may discover beauty.
My heart, my worldview, my perception of people, culture, life and justice is shifting…. And I’m glad. The more I think I understand, the more I realize that I don’t actually understand and it makes me want to understand and repeat the whole cycle over and over again….
