The Daily Routines of Creative Folk…

One of the things I’ve been working on this past month is refining my daily routine. There are soo many projects, soo many ideas, soo many people to network with and time is of the essence!

I’m fine tuning my dailies and sticking to them.

A friend of mine posted the above infographic on his facebook page awhile back and I found it pretty insightful and encouraging for two reasons:

  1. As a creative, it’ ok that I don’t fit into the typical 9-5 grind
  2. My daily grind and process is different and perfectly fine

Everyone’s grind is different and once you come to terms with the way you work, you lend yourself to greater productivity and unique work

Recognizing that your creative process is different and accepting it for what it is can lend to the uniqueness of work and greater productivity.

What does your daily work routine look like?

Campaign Love: This Girl Can

I absolutely love this campaign and this campaign video. The music, the footage and the creative editing is faultless. A great campaign video is all that this is: compelling, inspirational and excellent in visuals and audio.

And the name… The name is perfect: This Girl Can

The purpose of the campaign is to encourage women to be active in sports and exercise and to be proud of their bodies regardless of much they may wiggle, jiggle or sweat.

“Fear of judgement is stopping many of us from taking part in exercise.
But as thousands of women up and down the country are proving, it really doesn’t have to.” – This Girl Can

No body shaming here–it’s all about encouragement and celebration.

Love it.

The Dream is Free. The Hustle Isn’t.

Over the past few years, I’ve had a dream; a dream to work for myself and own my own business. The process hasn’t been easy. It’s been a journey through a ton of “nos” and very few “yeses”

Throughout the journey, I’ve been:

Changing, shifting, shedding and gaining…
Learning, people-pleasing, sifting through happiness and disillusionment…
Praying, gaining faith in myself and my business and losing it within seconds
Living in abundance and being broke, like reeeaaally broke….
And loving… Loving with all my heart….

At the center of all the the chaos, drama, change and many false starts, the dream has stayed alive and somehow has taken form. These four words describe the last few years of hustle–where I’ve come from and where I’m going:

Evolve. Discover. Inspire. Sacrifice.

Yup, the dream is free but the hustle is costly…

New Year, New Beginnings….

I’m sitting here in one of my favourite coffee shop offices a.k.a coffice, just a few hours away from the new year! I’m trying to wrap up two projects and while making a final attempt at closing off the busyness of my 2014 freelance life, I’m loosely strategizing for the next year. Truth be told, I’m throughly excited about what is to come.

Come quickly 2015, come quickly please!

I’ve personally labelled 2015 as the year of “doing every single project that has come to my mind to do in the last five years AND slaying it!”  That’s the plan and I’m sticking to it!

One of those “projects” includes this business and this blog. I feel like it’s time to take everything to the next level and see what happens.

It’s about damn time!

So, cheers to an interesting 2014 and an even greater 2015! I wish many blessings, prosperity and love to you, those you love and your entrepreneurial journey!

Happy New Year!
